Description

You will lead a team of 9 engineers responsible for the full lifecycle of services in the ESET XDR platform—from architecture and development through CI/CD, monitoring, and 3rd-level production support. As Team Lead, you will manage people activities such as 1:1s, feedback, performance reviews, goals, career development, and compensation, while staying hands-on with C# and .NET 10. You’ll design, implement, and review distributed backend microservices and APIs, help resolve complex technical issues, and guide architectural direction with the team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of 9 engineers

• Run regular 1:1s, provide feedback, and support individual development plans

• Lead performance reviews and contribute to compensation decisions

• Collaborate with Product Owners on priorities and delivery

• Design, implement, and maintain backend microservices and APIs using C# and .NET 10

• Perform development, code reviews, debugging, and complex problem solving

• Design and evolve distributed systems and APIs with attention to scalability, reliability, maintainability, and operational impact

• Define and maintain the architecture of owned services

• Work on API gateways, Syslog export services, and integration management

• Improve code quality, development practices, CI/CD, and observability

• Troubleshoot complex production issues across the service lifecycle

• Consider security requirements and work with Security on service design changes

• Mentor engineers through code reviews and technical collaboration

Requirements

• Several years of software engineering experience with strong hands-on production experience

• Strong experience with C# and .NET (ideally .NET 10)

• Experience designing and developing backend microservices and APIs

• Good understanding of distributed systems (scalability, reliability, resilience, service-to-service communication)

• Experience designing and evolving software architecture for production systems

• Ability to identify technical trade-offs and explain design decisions

• Experience with CI/CD and modern software development practices

• Experience with containers and Docker

• Experience with monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting production systems

• Understanding of software security and secure development practices

• Ability to work across the full software lifecycle from design/development through deployment and production support

• Communication skills for feedback and collaboration

• Experience leading engineers and supporting their professional development (formal people management is a strong advantage)

• Fluent English for daily communication
