Description

You will lead Linux kernel patching, code development, and version adoption for server management controllers across a massive global fleet. The work ensures kernels remain current, secure, and compliant with strict patching service-level agreements that directly impact infrastructure reliability. You will architect kernel upgrade and deployment strategies that minimize customer impact while rapidly addressing security vulnerabilities and optimizing operational efficiency.

Role Description / Responsibilities

• Design and develop firmware solutions for servers supporting millions of customer workloads
• Lead the complete development lifecycle from conception through production deployment
• Architect and implement firmware deployment strategies that minimize customer impact while maintaining high security and operational standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional hardware, validation, and software services teams to optimize functionality and performance
• Explore and evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption into the firmware stack
• Drive technical solutions balancing security requirements, operational efficiency, and system reliability
• Tailor firmware solutions to the AWS environment and its operational workflows
• Mentor team members and improve development processes, tools, and best practices

Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language
• 5+ years leading design or architecture of new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability, scaling)
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
