Description

Provide professional guidance and on-site supervision of all construction activities for an H2-ready reserve gas power plant. Ensure compliance with work safety, environmental protection, and emergency management requirements while coordinating trades in a complex brownfield environment. Support project controls through progress monitoring, status reporting, documentation, and follow-up of delays, defects, and change requests.

Responsibilities

• Advise and accompany construction activities on site
• Monitor and document compliance with legal/regulatory/operational requirements for work safety, environmental protection, and emergency management
• Coordinate involved trades in an advanced brownfield setting
• Moderate and prepare construction and coordination meetings
• Monitor construction progress and create status reports with deviation analyses and action recommendations
• Document and track delays, defects, and change requests, including evidence preservation
• Support authority acceptances, audits, inspections, and approval procedures
• Review equipment suitability evidence for devices, operating materials, and executing companies
• Technically review invoices and support claim and contract-management topics
• Advise project management and adjacent functions (HSSE, QA/QC, document management, operations)
• Support crisis management for unforeseen events
• Conduct accident investigations and develop lessons learned and improvement proposals
• Ensure complete project documentation and handover of relevant results to the client

Requirements

• Successfully completed degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, or a related field; alternatively, technical training plus further education and long-term experience
• At least 10 years of experience as a senior construction supervisor or in a comparable leading function in large-scale projects
• Solid project experience in power generation, chemical, energy, or oil & gas environments
• Strong knowledge of live electrical equipment, gas systems, and explosion protection (Ex) requirements
• Documented experience delivering brownfield construction projects under ongoing operations
• Strong understanding of work safety as well as environmental and health protection
• Experience collaborating with authorities, experts, auditors, and stakeholders
• Knowledge of change orders, claims, and contract management is beneficial
• Very good German and English communication skills (spoken and written)
• High communication skills, assertiveness, and strong responsibility
