Description

Design and maintain sophisticated Power BI data models for enterprise environments, including relationships, measures, calculation groups, and advanced DAX logic. Translate complex business needs into scalable analytical products focused on usability, reliability, and solution architecture. Provide expert support for Power BI environments, including troubleshooting datasets, calculations, data refreshes, gateways, permissions, security, and report behavior.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain enterprise Power BI data models (semantic layer design, calculation groups, advanced DAX)

• Integrate and work with data sources such as SAP BW, SAP, Microsoft SQL Server, Dataverse, and SharePoint

• Deliver scalable analytical products with strong focus on usability, reliability, and architecture

• Troubleshoot Power BI issues related to datasets, calculations, refreshes, gateways, permissions, security, and report behavior

• Identify and implement improvements to efficiency at the model, query, report, and source-data levels

• Support Power BI administration: workspace configuration, deployment procedures, gateway setup, scheduled refreshes, permissions, and security policies

• Establish and promote BI development, deployment, and governance standards

• Serve as a technical authority within the BI team and mentor less experienced developers

• Organize technical workshops, internal knowledge-sharing sessions, and user training; contribute to documentation and peer reviews

• Review existing models and solutions for maintainability, consistency, and adherence to recommended Power BI practices

Requirements

• Advanced proficiency in Power BI (development and administration)

• Strong command of DAX and advanced analytical calculations

• Expert knowledge of semantic layer design and data structures

• Experience optimizing analytical models and report performance

• Practical knowledge of Power BI Service and its administration

• Intermediate SQL / T-SQL

• Advanced understanding of relational data structures and modeling principles

• Experience with SAP BW, SAP, Microsoft SQL Server, Dataverse, and SharePoint

• Hands-on knowledge of Azure Analysis Services

• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric

• Proficiency with Tabular Editor, DAX Studio, and Visual Studio

• Experience supporting deployment workflows, data refresh processes, and gateway configuration

• Ability to manage Power BI workspaces, permissions, and user access

• Ability to prepare technical specifications and solution documentation
