Description

You will lead end-to-end test strategy and execution for banking projects, taking shared responsibility for project success. The role focuses on designing and implementing a test approach covering functional, non-functional, automated, regression, and security testing, while coordinating across IT and business teams. You will drive quality governance, manage defects, and measure effectiveness through test process metrics.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement test strategy and approach for functional, non-functional, automated, regression, and security testing

• Plan and coordinate testing: plans/schedules, entry/exit criteria, milestones, and critical path monitoring

• Manage IT and business tester teams: organize work, delegate tasks, mentor, and grow competencies

• Run end-to-end test process across dependencies between IT, business, external suppliers, and related initiatives

• Create and maintain test documentation: strategy, plans, scenarios, reports, and post-execution documentation

• Collaborate with developers, analysts, Product Owners, business process owners, PMO, and external vendors

• Manage defects end-to-end: identification, classification, prioritization, and tracking resolution

• Establish and enforce quality standards and best practices

• Select, implement, and optimize tools supporting test management and automation

• Identify and analyze quality risks and define mitigation actions

• Deliver reporting on test progress, product quality, risks, and recommendations to project teams and management

• Define and monitor test process KPIs and evaluate effectiveness

• Support tester community growth via training and knowledge sharing

• Contribute to CI/CD and DevOps process development and improvement of change delivery

• Build and maintain test governance for strategic initiatives

Requirements

• 5–10+ years of software testing experience, including creating test strategy and approach

• At least 5 years of experience in the banking sector

• Experience as a test manager/leader defining test scope, plans, schedules, and success criteria

• Practical knowledge of functional and non-functional testing

• Experience collaborating with IT, business, and external suppliers

• Knowledge of testing methodologies/standards (ISTQB, TMMi, Agile Testing) with practical application

• Very good knowledge of SDLC with emphasis on the test process across test levels and types

• Practical Agile/Scrum experience and experience with Waterfall and/or PRINCE2

• Ability to estimate test effort and manage complex project dependencies

• Experience defining/monitoring quality metrics and entry/exit criteria

• Ability to balance governance, quality control, and agility

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Strong results orientation and accountability for execution

• Excellent presentation skills and experience communicating with management

• Fluent Polish and English (spoken and written)

• Tooling experience: Jira, Confluence, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI; test tools such as Jira/Zephyr, TestRail, Selenium, Postman, JMeter
