Description

You will support and further develop the IT landscape for a vehicle fleet used in public transport. The role focuses on integrating and operating embedded, largely Linux-based vehicle and telematics systems, managing networking and connectivity, and ensuring data synchronization and quality.

Responsibilities

• Handle all IT-related topics related to vehicle technology in public transport
• Integrate, commission, and maintain hardware and software systems (e.g., vehicle onboard computers, switches, routers, camera systems, ITCS components)
• Install, configure, and administer embedded systems (e.g., vehicle onboard computers, passenger information systems, passenger counting systems, camera systems)
• Plan, configure, and manage network environments (router, switches, firewalls, plus VPN, VLAN, NAT)
• Manage data supply (imports, exports, synchronization processes) between vehicle and background systems and ensure data quality
• Administer and further develop charging management systems for electric buses, including hardware configuration of charging infrastructure
• Document and optimize processes and workflows

Requirements

• Completed vocational training as an IT specialist for system integration or technician/degree in a relevant field (computer science, information/communication technology, electrical engineering, vehicle technology) or comparable qualification
• Sound knowledge of Linux-based embedded systems
• Strong networking knowledge (routing, switching, firewalls, VPN, VLAN, NAT)
• Experience supporting, integrating, commissioning, and troubleshooting technical hardware and software systems
• Preferred: understanding of vehicle communication, telematics systems, public transport technical systems, IT security, and system documentation
• Analytical, structured, independent working style and strong problem-solving skills
• Confident communication and professional appearance with internal teams, manufacturers, and external service providers
