Position: Data Architect. You design, govern, and evolve an enterprise data platform supporting operations, analytics, and AI/ML across SAP, business applications, IoT/OT, and unstructured data. The architecture must be scalable, secure, high-quality, and high-performing.

Description

The Data Architect owns the overall platform architecture and establishes standards that enable secure, scalable data consumption and data product development. You will design ingestion, distribution, governance, data quality, storage, processing, and access layers—while driving performance, reliability, and cost efficiency across batch, streaming, and event-driven workloads.

Responsibilities

• Define and govern scalable enterprise data platform architecture across lakehouse, warehouse, and real-time/batch workloads
• Establish standards for data ingestion, distribution, governance, and management
• Define architecture principles for storage, processing, access, and integration (APIs, BI, semantic layers)
• Design for batch, streaming, and event-driven workloads across structured and unstructured data sources (SAP, business applications, IoT)
• Implement enterprise data governance (metadata, catalog, lineage, ownership, quality, policies)
• Ensure security-by-design (classification, RBAC/ABAC, encryption, data protection)
• Enforce data quality frameworks and platform reliability (monitoring, observability, alerting, SLA/SLO)
• Set best practices for DataOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and platform lifecycle management
• Collaborate with engineering, data science, BI, and architecture teams
• Provide architectural guidance and act as a technical authority on data topics

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field
• 7+ years of proven experience in data architecture, enterprise data platforms, or data engineering leadership
• Experience architecting enterprise-scale data platforms
• Strong expertise with Databricks, Snowflake, and lakehouse/Delta Lake architectures
• Solid knowledge of data architecture, integration, and conceptual/logical/physical modeling
• Knowledge of data processing patterns (batch, streaming, operational data flows, serving layers)
• Proficiency in Python and SQL
• Familiarity with data mesh, domain-oriented architectures, and federated governance
• Cloud experience (preferably Azure), containerization, and integration technologies
• Experience with orchestration and automation patterns for data platforms
• Understanding of ETL/ELT, data warehousing, and data integration principles
• Proven track record of defining and implementing DevOps/DataOps/CI-CD practices for data platforms
• Experience with metadata, governance, and data quality frameworks (catalog, lineage, quality, ownership)
• Systems thinking and ability to balance standardization with flexibility across domains
• Strong stakeholder communication and ability to influence without authority
• Product mindset for treating the data platform as a product
