Description

Build and optimize lakehouse data platforms on Databricks, including greenfield implementations and migrations from on-prem environments. Design and implement end-to-end, customer-specific data solutions (data models, data quality, automation, and operations) and create Spark-based data transformations and integrations. Ensure performance, cost, and scalability for very large data volumes, and deploy and operate code using CI/CD and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Build new lakehouse platforms on a greenfield basis
• Migrate existing on-prem data platforms to the cloud and develop/optimize ones already running
• Design and implement end-to-end customer data solutions, including data models, data quality, process automation, and operations
• Work on Databricks with modern tooling such as Delta Lake, MLflow, and Apache Kafka (as needed by the project)
• Build data transformations and integrations, especially using Spark
• Optimize performance, cost, and scaling for very large data volumes
• Deploy and operate your own code using CI/CD and DevOps
• Prototype and validate new approaches in a Databricks environment before customer rollout
• Collaborate closely with colleagues and customers

Requirements

• Knowledge of lakehouse platform concepts, specifically Databricks
• Practical experience with Delta Lake and Apache Spark
• Experience with at least one cloud provider: Azure, AWS, or GCP
• High-level SQL querying skills
• Experience with Git and CI/CD
• Experience developing in Python
• Quick learning ability and fast adaptation to new environments
• Team spirit and willingness to share expertise
• Strong communication skills and English proficiency; comfortable with pre-sale and customer presentations
