Description

You’ll develop and improve client websites built on WordPress using custom, UX-focused themes and no page builders. You’ll maintain existing sites (updates, fixes, new features) including WPML and WooCommerce, while also covering performance, technical SEO, and accessibility (WCAG). Some work may extend beyond WordPress, such as Webflow tasks and small changes in Nuxt/React projects.

Responsibilities

• Build and develop WordPress sites using custom themes (Bedrock + Sage, Blade, Tailwind, Vite)

• Maintain and evolve existing client services: updates, bug fixes, new functionality

• Work with WPML and WooCommerce

• Handle smaller tasks outside WordPress: Webflow, static landing pages, minor changes in Nuxt/React

• Improve performance (PageSpeed / Core Web Vitals) and technical SEO

• Support accessibility compliance (WCAG)

• Collaborate with lead developers, designers, and PM

Requirements

• At least 3 years of WordPress experience covering PHP and custom themes

• Experience with custom fields (ACF or similar), WordPress hooks, WP REST API, and WP_Query

• Knowledge of Bedrock + Sage (Blade) and Composer, or ability to learn quickly

• Frontend skills: Tailwind, Vite, JavaScript (Vue or Alpine preferred), responsive implementation, semantic HTML

• Mandatory: daily use of AI coding tools with the ability to verify generated code (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot)

• English at least B2

• Independent, precise work and strong organization skills (deliver tasks from estimation to deployment)
