Description

Lead the design and implementation of a client’s data architecture and strategy. You will define how data is stored, consumed, integrated, and managed, partnering with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and business-aligned data systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee the overall data architecture, including databases, data warehouses, data lakes, and integration systems

• Translate business requirements into data architecture solutions for current and future needs

• Define and implement data management processes: data modeling, metadata management, data quality, and data governance

• Ensure data security and compliance via access controls and data protection mechanisms

• Optimize data architectures for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency in on-premise and cloud environments

• Provide guidance and best practices to data engineers, analysts, and developers

• Apply current trends and technologies in data architecture to improve infrastructure

• Create and maintain documentation (data flow diagrams, data models, and system integrations)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field

• 7+ years of experience in data architecture and/or data engineering

• 4+ years of experience with Databricks

• Strong understanding of data management: data modeling, ETL, data integration, and data warehousing

• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, data lakes, and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka)

• Proficiency in data modeling tools and techniques, plus familiarity with data governance and data quality frameworks

• Experience with AWS/GCP/Azure and modern data architectures, including serverless and microservices

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex data system design

• Excellent communication and leadership skills to work across teams and influence stakeholders

• Ability to travel to client sites as needed (up to 20%)
