Description

Build AI-powered security applications and tooling across the full pipeline of open source software usage. You will develop intelligent automation for identifying, analyzing, and remediating security issues, enforce security guardrails for agents and human experts, and provide data-driven insights to AWS leadership. The role requires high autonomy—from whiteboard design through production delivery—along with mentoring and upskilling security engineers.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build LLM-based systems for intelligent code scanning, severity assessments, and remediation alternatives (using Bedrock, SageMaker, and RAG patterns)

• Reimagine low-throughput, human-dependent security workflows into high-volume machine-speed pipelines while preserving quality metrics

• Collaborate with and influence leaders across a broad open source ecosystem

• Drive proactive security automation that identifies and remediates issues in deliverables (code, threat models, content) without requiring explicit consent at every step

• Own operational excellence: define SLAs, monitoring, alerting, runbooks, and incident response; participate in 24/7 on-call rotation

• Lead technical design via design documents and trade-off analysis across organizations

• Raise the engineering bar through mentoring, code/design reviews, and contributing to standards
