Description

Administer, monitor, and maintain the server and system landscape, including virtualization environments and backup operations. Operate and support Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server databases, Windows client/server systems with Active Directory, network infrastructure, IP telephony, and VPN connections. Implement and maintain security guidelines while supporting users with technical questions and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Administration, monitoring, and maintenance of server and system landscape
  • Operate and maintain virtualization environments
  • Plan, execute, and verify data backups using standard backup systems
  • Manage and maintain the Microsoft Exchange environment
  • Install, configure, and update PCs, servers, and Microsoft products
  • Set up and maintain networks; configure switches and hubs
  • Set up and maintain VPN connections
  • Administer SQL Server databases
  • Set up, manage, and support IP telephony systems
  • Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot printers and multifunction devices
  • Implement and maintain security policies
  • Manage users and permissions in Active Directory
  • Support and maintain ERP and document management systems; analyze processes and interfaces
  • Document system changes, installations, and technical procedures
  • Support end users with technical questions and incidents

Requirements

  • Completed training as an IT specialist (Fachinformatiker) or comparable qualification
  • Several years of experience administering complex IT infrastructures
  • Solid virtualization knowledge
  • Experience with backup systems
  • Confident with Microsoft Exchange administration
  • SQL Server administration knowledge
  • Experience creating and programming Microsoft Access databases
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows client/server and Active Directory
  • Experience with network technology (switches, hubs) and IP telephony
  • Knowledge setting up and maintaining VPN connections
  • Understanding of ERP systems and workflows
  • Experience working with IT security solutions
  • Structured, service-oriented working style and strong teamwork
  • German language skills (required)
  • Willingness to commute or plan relocation to 07549 Gera before start (required)
