Quick Facts

  • Work model: Fully remote

  • Time zone: At least 5 hours of overlap with UTC+4

  • Contract: September 2026 to 31.12.2026

  • Engagement: Full-time

  • Pay: Up to 42 EUR/h (B2B)

Description

Staff Node.js Developer (Architecture) needed for deep system design and architecture judgment in a multi-product architecture. You will work as a technical peer with existing Staff engineers and engineering managers, and your RFC/ADR-driven designs will go into production.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze an existing multi-product architecture to understand its current shape before proposing changes

  • Provide evidence-based assessment of code and design quality across product lines (correctness on money/stock paths, security posture, coupling, and capacity risk)

  • Write and review RFCs and ADRs, making assumptions, failure modes, capacity, and security explicit

  • Design extend-vs-rebuild decisions with incremental, reversible migration paths and rollback stories

  • Work within real constraints including multi-currency payments, fraud and abuse exposure, PCI DSS scope, third-party supplier integrations, and large traffic spikes

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience

  • Anticipate future use cases and minimize cost of change (express trade-offs in cost terms)

  • Anticipate scaling limits across a domain before they bind, including shared dependencies (authentication, supplier integrations)

  • Review others’ designs constructively and identify scalability or change-cost risks early

  • Collaborate as a technical peer (including productive disagreement with Staff engineers/managers)

  • Use architecture patterns for iterative, autonomous development and future scaling (e.g., bounded contexts; minimize cross-service dependencies)

  • Design for expected peak load and validate limits with testing

  • Build reusable components for other teams, with documentation and migration paths

  • Design with abuse in mind by default (rate limits, velocity checks, idempotency)

  • Read and explain every line of AI-generated code you ship

  • Testing that covers edge and failure cases

  • Strong command of OWASP Top 10 and secure-by-default habits (secrets management, input validation, data handling)

  • Strong written English for asynchronous RFC and review collaboration

  • Collaborative style: present options with trade-offs and argue with reasoning

Benefits

  • 100% remote work

  • Long-term collaboration on challenging products

  • Continuous development of hard and soft skills with an experienced team
