Lead Platform Engineer

Description

Lead the design, build, and maintenance of internal developer platforms that enable self-service deployment and application management. You will integrate AI-enabled platform capabilities—including GenAI, intelligent agents, and AIOps—to improve automation, reliability, and developer productivity. You’ll also standardize tools and frameworks, ensure high availability/performance, and use DORA metrics to continually improve development and operations.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain internal platforms enabling self-service deployment and application management
• Develop and update standardized tools, libraries, and frameworks to optimize development workflows
• Integrate AI technologies on the platform (GenAI, AI agents, AIOps) to improve productivity and operations
• Integrate diverse development tools and services across the platform ecosystem
• Enhance developer experience with documentation, training, and support
• Ensure platforms deliver high availability, reliability, and performance
• Apply DORA metrics to assess and improve development and operational processes
• Monitor industry trends and adopt emerging technologies to expand platform capabilities
• Collaborate with development, operations, and security for smooth application integration
• Provide technical guidance to resolve platform issues and improve system health

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in platform engineering or related field
• Strong knowledge of software development processes, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps methodologies
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep) and GitOps (Flux, ArgoCD)
• Familiarity with Crossplane, Pulumi, and AWS Controllers for Kubernetes
• Experience with internal developer platforms (Backstage, Humanitec, OpsLevel)
• Understanding of high availability, high performance multi-data center systems and hybrid cloud environments
• Scripting skills in Bash, Shell, or Python
• Strong troubleshooting across system resources and application stack issues
• Native AI cloud services experience (AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, Azure AI)
• Ability to design, build, and operate AI agents and agentic frameworks
• Coding Agents experience/tools (Claude Code, OpenCode, Cursor, Trae, Antigravity)
• Proficient English communication skills
