Description

Join a mid-level Data Scientist team to move a search engine beyond keyword matching toward Domain-Aware Hybrid Search using LLMs, semantic search, and knowledge graphs. You will support the Central Query Understanding mechanism and implement Predictive & Assistive Discovery to automate intent recognition and reduce the cost of search.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy predictive, segmentation, forecasting, and recommendation models
  • Build query-to-category and query-to-product matching models to improve search relevance
  • Fine-tune small, efficient models to strengthen internal AI engineering capabilities
  • Work end-to-end across DS project phases: problem formulation, data exploration, modeling, automation, release, and monitoring
  • Apply a range of methods including boosting, Bayesian methods, causal inference, optimization, deep learning, and forecasting
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, analytics, and data engineering on experiment setup and deployment
  • Ensure models reflect business process specificity and stay up-to-date with GenAI challenges

Requirements

  • Degree strongly related to statistical or mathematical modeling
  • At least 2 years of experience in data analysis and building ML solutions released to production
  • Strong understanding of statistical and machine learning methods, especially forecasting and decision tree-based algorithms
  • Proficient in Python and comfortable using basic development tools
  • Ability to process massive datasets (terabytes) using Google Cloud Platform with tabular, spatial, natural language, image, and time-series data
  • English B2 and Polish C1
