Description

You will be responsible for running and improving production data and feature pipelines that power recommendation and advertising machine learning. The role focuses on ensuring billions of daily events flow reliably through ingestion and processing with monitoring, data-quality checks, backfills, and troubleshooting within SLA. You will also support Data Scientists and Analysts by providing reliable data for production models and experiments and maintain runbooks and documentation for knowledge transfer.

Responsibilities

• Own and operate existing data and feature pipelines powering recommendation and advertising ML systems
• Ensure reliable ingestion and processing of large event volumes (monitoring, data-quality checks, backfills)
• Support Data Scientists and Analysts with production-ready data for models and experiments
• Take ownership of in-flight initiatives and maintain momentum on pipeline/platform improvements
• Troubleshoot and resolve data issues to keep the platform stable and within SLA
• Maintain documentation and runbooks for smooth knowledge transfer

Requirements

• Several years of hands-on Data Engineering experience; able to become productive from day one and work independently
• Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and Spark, with experience building and operating large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines
• Hands-on orchestration experience (e.g., Airflow)
• Experience with a major cloud provider, preferably GCP (AWS or Azure is welcome)
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes
• Solid software engineering fundamentals: Git, CI/CD, testing, and clean, maintainable code
• Strong ownership mindset, reliability, and ability to troubleshoot production issues independently
• Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts, and engineering teams
