Description

You will build, maintain, and enhance a cloud-based data platform across AWS and GCP, enabling scalable, secure, and cost-efficient data solutions. You will partner with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Data Analysts, and other stakeholders to deliver infrastructure that supports current and future data needs. The role emphasizes designing data platforms, evaluating technical trade-offs, and improving reliability, observability, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain Data Platform infrastructure across AWS and GCP: data lakes, data warehouses, orchestration, and observability

  • Introduce new features and services; improve monitoring and observability; automate common operational tasks

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD-driven deployment processes to improve reliability, scalability, and developer experience

  • Support and evolve the MLOps Platform in collaboration with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Data Analysts

  • Manage and optimize the data estate: IAM and access policies, storage management, platform monitoring, and cost control

  • Design and implement secure, compliant, and user-friendly data infrastructure

  • Continuously improve performance, reliability, security, and operational efficiency across cloud environments

  • Engage stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver platform capabilities

  • Uphold engineering practices including code reviews, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and data governance standards

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in Data Engineering and/or Data Platform Engineering

  • Strong infrastructure and platform engineering experience (modern DevOps practices; cloud technologies AWS and GCP; Docker; Terraform)

  • Expertise with BigQuery: security, performance optimization, and cost management

  • Experience with AWS data lake architectures (Athena, S3, Glue), including query optimization, security, and cost-efficient design

  • Proficiency in Python; modern data technologies such as Airflow and dbt

  • Solid understanding of data security, platform security, and access management

  • Experience implementing and maintaining observability and monitoring solutions (e.g., Grafana and CloudWatch)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate technical options and trade-offs

  • Excellent communication skills and collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Comfortable in high engineering standards environments (CI/CD, code reviews, pull requests, and data governance)

  • Fluent English (written and spoken)

  • Residing in Poland required

  • Fluent Polish required
