Description

Manage, maintain, and further develop a WordPress-based web portal. Perform theme/plugin/component changes using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, monitor website operation and logs, and resolve technical issues and downtime. Optimize page load speed, implement caching/static assets improvements, integrate systems via REST API and import scripts, and support basic SEO, accessibility, and web usability.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and develop a WordPress web portal
  • Modify templates, plugins, and components using PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Monitor website performance, analyze logs, and fix technical errors, outages, and operational problems
  • Optimize load speed (caching, images, and static files)
  • Integrate external/internal data sources via REST API and import scripts
  • Provide basic care for SEO, accessibility, and usability
  • Perform backups, test changes, and deploy safely to the production site
  • Provide basic administration of the web runtime environment (Linux server, Apache, databases, Elasticsearch)
  • Coordinate with other IT staff or vendors on complex infrastructure issues
  • Document changes, technical solutions, and operational interventions

Requirements

  • Good knowledge of WordPress and PHP (including HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Ability to work with MySQL/MariaDB databases
  • Orientation in REST API, JSON data, and data import processes
  • Basic knowledge of Linux server administration and iptables/ufw
  • Orientation in Apache2 and PHP configuration and operation
  • Basic knowledge of database administration, query performance, backups, and data restore
  • Orientation in operating and basic administration of Elasticsearch
  • Knowledge of web security principles, updates, permissions/laws, and backups
  • Knowledge of responsive design, accessibility, SEO, and performance optimization
  • Knowledge of Git and code versioning
