Description

You will design, deploy, and operate Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments for enterprise customers, including host pools, workspaces, application groups, and session host sizing. The role covers FSLogix-based user profiles, golden image building, identity/access configuration with Entra ID, migrations from Citrix/VMware Horizon/RDS, monitoring and runbook creation, and autoscaling/performance/cost tuning. You will also support automation and Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and DevOps pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy AVD environments (host pools, workspaces, application groups, session hosts, sizing)
• Configure user profiles using FSLogix with Azure Files or Azure NetApp Files, including Cloud Cache and redirections
• Build and maintain golden images (Azure Compute Gallery, Packer or Image Builder) and application packaging (MSIX App Attach)
• Set up identity and access (Entra ID join, hybrid join, Conditional Access, MFA, RBAC)
• Migrate users from Citrix, VMware Horizon, or RDS to Azure and define target designs
• Optimize performance and costs (autoscaling, scaling plans, SKU choice, reservations, savings plans)
• Diagnose operational issues using Log Analytics and Azure Monitor (KQL, AVD Insights) and write runbooks
• Prepare IaC (primarily Terraform) and deploy via DevOps pipelines/GitHub Actions
• Build environments for AI/SDD developers (session hosts with AI tools and MCP servers, access to models in Azure OpenAI, data isolation, cost control)
• Automate routine tasks with PowerShell
• Create and maintain project documentation and support smaller projects
• Share and consume know-how within the team

Requirements

• Experience with VDI or terminal services (AVD, Windows 365, Citrix, Horizon, or RDS)
• Knowledge of Windows 11 multi-session and Windows Server (GPO, application packaging, image management)
• Practical experience with FSLogix and profile containers
• Orientation in Azure IaaS and networking (VNet, peering, DNS, storage, private endpoints)
• Knowledge of cloud identity principles (Entra ID)
• PowerShell skills to write scripts independently
• Customer communication skills
• Interest in working with AI tools and finding real ways to save effort
• Interest in monitoring new trends in modern technologies
• Ability to produce quality, clear project documentation
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a team
• Good English level (verbal and written)
