Description

You will develop and maintain Ruby on Rails applications—implementing new features and improving existing codebases. The role includes managing and optimizing PostgreSQL databases, participating in DevOps tasks, and building microservices in Kubernetes. You will also integrate interfaces to external cash register (“Kassen”) and retail management systems to optimize data exchange and system communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Ruby on Rails applications; implement new features and optimize existing codebases

• Manage and optimize PostgreSQL including data modeling, performance monitoring/tuning, and data migrations

• Contribute to DevOps: deploy application releases, develop/maintain microservices in Kubernetes, and run database migrations

• Develop and integrate interfaces to external cash register and retail management systems to improve data exchange and communication

Requirements

• Completed Computer Science degree or comparable training

• Strong experience with Ruby on Rails development

• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL

• Solid knowledge of Test Driven Development (TDD)

• AWS development knowledge (e.g., RDS) is a plus

• Independent, analytical, structured, and careful working style

• Strong service and customer orientation

• Teamwork and resilience

• Very good German (at least C1) and English (at least B2) in speaking and writing
