Description

You will develop and improve custom business applications used in administrative workflows, with a strong emphasis on building access programs for the Adabas database. The role includes implementing, extending, and optimizing individual software, supporting data replication from Adabas to SQL, and contributing across all phases of the software development lifecycle. You will work independently and collaborate with multiple specialist departments while preparing for a planned technology transition over the coming decade.

Responsibilities

• Independently implement, extend, and optimize existing custom software

• Develop access programs for the Adabas database

• Support Adabas-to-SQL data replication

• Contribute to projects across all phases of the software development process

• In the future, take responsibility for implementing requirements with small and mid-sized teams

Requirements

• Completed relevant (technical) higher education or vocational training or comparable professional experience in application development

• Knowledge of COBOL

• Knowledge of Natural

• Knowledge of Adabas

• Knowledge of SQL

• Accountability, quick comprehension, and good judgment

• Teamwork, initiative, communication skills, and good work/time organization

• Willingness to support a technology transition within the next 10 years and develop further through available training opportunities
