Description

You will develop and maintain a Laboratory Information System (LIS) in an agile environment, implementing core laboratory workflows from order capture to report generation. The role includes building and maintaining desktop clients (WinForms), designing data structures in an MS SQL Server database, and developing integrations with lab analyzers and partner systems (e.g., HL7, ASTM). You will also translate requirements from laboratory teams into stable, maintainable software and support quality assurance through code reviews, automated tests, and production error analysis.

Responsibilities

• Further development and maintenance of the LIS in C# / .NET

• Implement core lab processes: order capture, sample tracking, validation, and report creation

• Develop and support interfaces to analysis devices and partner systems (HL7, ASTM, Order-Entry, etc.)

• Maintain WinForms desktop clients and the underlying database structures (MS SQL Server)

• Analyze business requirements with the laboratories and translate them into robust, maintainable software

• Quality assurance through code reviews, automated tests, and error analysis in operations

Requirements

• IT education or degree, or comparable professional experience

• Knowledge of C# and .NET

• Understanding of security and data privacy in medical/regulatory environments

• Interest in implementing complex laboratory workflows in modern software architecture

• Systematic-analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills

• Independent, responsible work style focused on delivering good results

• Good German and English skills

• Willingness to work on-site in Leipzig

• Advantage: experience with WinForms and relational databases

• Advantage: experience with healthcare interface standards (HL7, ASTM) or willingness to learn
