Description

Support the development of IBM Quantum systems by fabricating, assembling, and characterizing precision components used in quantum computing hardware. This is a highly hands-on, laboratory-based position involving precision machining, hardware fabrication, component characterization, and executing experiments with experienced engineers and scientists. You’ll receive technical guidance and mentorship to accelerate your professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, assemble, and characterize precision mechanical components for quantum computing hardware
  • Perform precision machining and hardware fabrication work
  • Execute laboratory experiments in collaboration with engineers and scientists
  • Troubleshoot complex technical challenges independently and with the team
  • Work effectively in interdisciplinary teams (e.g., electrical, fabrication, experimental teams)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Applied Physics, or related)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to independently troubleshoot complex technical challenges
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for interdisciplinary teamwork
