Description

Build state-of-the-art AI/ML tools and pipelines to accelerate scientific discovery within an AI/ML-first approach to target and biomarker discovery and complex disease mechanism understanding. You will lead the design, development, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of reusable AI/ML software components used in scalable workflows. Partner with cross-functional scientists and engineers, providing both tactical and strategic technical support while staying current with AI/ML research and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, development, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of reusable software components integrated into reliable, scalable AI/ML workflows
  • Collaborate in a matrix environment to identify research questions, scope data requirements, and develop AI/ML solutions
  • Provide tactical and strategic technical support to AI/ML researchers and data scientists
  • Continuously track AI/ML research and operations advancements and propose innovative approaches aligned with industry standards

Requirements

  • Relevant STEM education (PhD preferred) with required years of post-graduate academic medical or industry experience (PhD: 4+ years; MS: 7+ years; BS: 11+ years)
  • Experience with Python, PyTorch, AWS, MLflow, Docker, GitHub, and GitHub Actions CI/CD
  • Experience building/deploying/scaling novel AI/ML pipelines, particularly transformer-based foundation models and representation learning
  • Experience covering full SDLC for maintaining Python packages and Docker images using modern DevSecOps best practices
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for multi-disciplinary technical support
  • Self-starter who can independently lead projects
