Description

Provide quality leadership by managing and developing QA teams across QMS, failure analysis, reliability, supply-chain monitoring, auditing, and NPI quality planning. Drive continual improvement using Six Sigma, 8D root-cause methods, CAPA, and Lean strategies while ensuring compliance with standards and legal/safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead QMS development and continual improvement; maintain ISO9001 and AS9100 certifications
  • Run customer failure analysis via 8D; implement corrective and preventive actions for returns/complaints
  • Support reliability activities during NPI, including qualification planning and MTBF/FIT calculations
  • Improve manufacturing quality through in-process inspections, MRB fault analysis, CAPA, and awareness training
  • Own supply-chain quality processes: SCAR, corrective actions for nonconforming materials, first-article assessments, and supplier evaluations (surveys and on-site audits)
  • Develop and implement process engineering changes with documentation and personnel training
  • Deliver ESD and FOD awareness training; provide IPC-610 and J-STD-001 operator certifications
  • Support NPI quality planning (Quality Plans, Key Characteristics) and educate teams on FMEA/RISK
  • Supervise, coach, and develop quality engineers and inspectors; implement GMP and KPIs
  • Coordinate with other site quality/operations/business unit teams and align production practices
  • Perform internal and process auditing; monitor/evaluate internal production processes
  • Engage with customers for feedback and implement control plans
  • Report quality standards and product issues to upper management; promote a continual improvement culture
  • Manage quality engineering groups across Beverly, Boulder, and San Jose

Requirements

  • 10+ years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years of quality management and supervisory experience
  • Four-year degree (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred)
  • US Person eligible for ITAR regulations
  • Experience training and mentoring quality/manufacturing personnel
  • Proven Six Sigma and 8D experience for root cause and corrective action implementation
  • Proven Lean experience, including waste removal (e.g., 6S)
  • Experience building and maintaining a site Quality Management System (ISO9001/AS9100)
  • Strong understanding of audit planning, execution, reporting, and follow-up
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently
  • Data analysis and statistical aptitude
  • Ability to ensure products adhere to legal and safety standards

Desirable

  • Frequency control product and related military performance specification experience
  • PCB manufacturing experience (SMT and through-hole)
  • Systems and module manufacturing experience
  • Reliability and risk management knowledge (modeling and assessment tools)
  • Experience with Minitab or similar statistical analysis tools
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Access) and Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt
  • Working knowledge of Oracle, Microsoft AX, and Agile
