Lead Engineer

Description

You will lead an engineering pod of 2–4 engineers with end-to-end ownership of modules in the platform. The role is hands-on: shipping code and architecting larger features, while partnering with Product to clarify requirements and guide technical decisions. You’ll balance high deployment velocity (TypeScript monorepo) with enterprise-scale data in Postgres and certified environmental calculations (e.g., ISO 14064).

Responsibilities

• Take full technical ownership of the modules your pod is responsible for

• Build and ship complex, high-impact features

• Partner with Product Managers to challenge requirements and simplify solutions

• Mentor and lead engineers in your pod by example

• Contribute to and help shape company-wide technical standards

• Make pragmatic technical and operational decisions with clear direction under uncertainty

Requirements

• Strong builder mindset

• Strong backend or infrastructure engineering experience, ideally in fast moving B2B SaaS startups

• At least 4–5 years of experience with web technologies using JavaScript or TypeScript

• Excellent English communication skills, with clear and structured communication

• Ability to motivate, support and lead other engineers

• German language skills
