Role Purpose
The End-to-End Systems Engineer is responsible for the technical integrity of the complete space mission, from spacecraft and payload through ground segment and operations.

Description

The role defines the overall system architecture of space systems and the technical baseline. It translates customer and mission needs into system-level requirements, allocates requirements to spacecraft, payload, ground, and operational segments, and manages cross-segment interfaces to ensure end-to-end compatibility. It leads system-level trade-offs, performance analyses, and technical decisions, develops ConOps and mission scenarios, and prepares technical proposals.

Responsibilities

  • Defining the overall system architecture of space systems and technical baseline
  • Translating customer and mission needs into system-level requirements
  • Allocating requirements to spacecraft, payload, ground and operational segments
  • Managing cross-segment interfaces and ensuring end-to-end compatibility
  • Leading system-level trade-offs, performance analyses and technical decisions
  • Development of ConOps and mission scenarios
  • Leading technical proposals preparations
  • Defining and coordinating system-level verification and validation
  • Supporting system integration, design reviews, acceptance and operational readiness
  • Acting as the main technical integrator across engineering domains and system elements

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in systems engineering of complex space systems
  • Understanding of spacecraft, payload and ground segment architectures
  • Strong experience in requirements engineering and system-level interface management
  • Experience with system architecture, trade-offs and performance analysis
  • Knowledge of systems engineering standards and processes, preferably ECSS / ISO 15288 / INCOSE
  • Ability to mentor less experience systems engineers
  • Experience in working with European Space Agency, European Commission and European Defense Agency
  • Experience in working on systems with flight heritage (TRL 9)
  • Experience with verification and validation of complex systems
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficient in both oral and written English
