Description

Lead a manufacturing engineering team for the aerospace business to ensure products meet customer and internal requirements for performance, reliability, and quality. You will drive DFx reviews, optimize production processes, maintain product quality, resolve issues affecting on-time shipment, and collaborate with stakeholders and other ITT sites. The role includes KPI/metrics reporting, continuous improvement for reliability and defect reduction, laboratory cost tracking, and adherence to industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Lead and develop the manufacturing engineering team; foster innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Leadership: Ensure internal/external customers have a premium experience with timely submission of testing results and proactive technical interaction.
  • Leadership: Provide tools and processes to report relevant departmental metrics and KPIs.
  • Leadership: Support maintenance programs and activities to ensure safety and machine efficiency.
  • Manufacturing Engineering: Lead DFx reviews.
  • Manufacturing Engineering: Optimize production processes.
  • Manufacturing Engineering: Maintain product quality and drive resolution to issues impacting on-time shipment.
  • Collaboration: Work with other ITT sites and cross-functional teams for knowledge sharing and alignment on engineering strategies.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor KPIs for engineering process performance; identify improvement areas and implement corrective actions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support initiatives to enhance product reliability, reduce manufacturing defects, and streamline engineering processes.
  • Budget Management: Track labor and expense budgets and ensure responsible allocation of resources, including laboratory costs.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure engineering activities follow industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Talent Development: Coach, mentor, and train team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 6 years experience (8+ preferred) in aerospace or related industry with hands-on production environment experience
  • Strong background across test equipment design, test engineering, environmental qualification (manufacturing experience is a plus)
  • Leadership and communication skills; ability to motivate and lead cross-functional teams; 2+ years as a project engineer or engineering management position
  • Excellent planning and problem-solving skills; effective cross-department and cross-location collaboration
  • Familiarity with industry regulations, quality standards, and safety protocols
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proven track record of continuous improvement
  • ITAR requirement: applicants must be U.S. Persons (US citizen, US permanent resident, political asylee, or refugee)
