Description

The data science intern will help drive proactive and predictive insights that inform strategic decision-making across the Commercial Excellence organization within the Trauma & Extremities division. The intern will achieve this through hands-on data exploration, advanced analytics, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify trends, forecast business outcomes, and support initiatives across Inventory, PLCM, and Customer Service. By leveraging tools like Python, SQL, and data visualization platforms, the intern will contribute to the development of scalable solutions that enhance business impact and support data-driven strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Apply classroom knowledge and gain experience in a fast-paced and growing industry setting
  • Implement new ideas and be constantly challenged to develop skills
  • Network with key/high-level stakeholders and business leaders
  • Be part of an innovative team and culture
  • Experience documenting complex processes and presenting them in a clear format
  • Develop, analyze, and model operational, economic, management, accounting, and other organizational data
  • Recommend solutions to new and complex problems and develop innovative strategies
  • Quantify competitive performance of operations and/or markets
  • Evaluate the potential impact of changes and report economic forecasts that affect the industry
  • Drive proactive and predictive insights for strategic decision-making across Commercial Excellence
  • Perform hands-on data exploration and advanced analytics to identify trends and forecast outcomes
  • Support initiatives across Inventory, PLCM, and Customer Service through cross-functional collaboration

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field
  • Must remain enrolled in a degree-seeking program after the internship
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA or above (verified at time of hire)
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship now or in the future
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate and build relationships
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and eagerness to learn

  • $20 min hourly wage – $35 max hourly wage
