Description

Joby Aviation is seeking a passionate engineer to develop electrical wiring systems on new aviation projects. In a rapid prototyping environment, the engineer will design the architecture, components, assemblies, and installations; build test articles, manufacturing assemblies, and install them; and run tests and iterate. The role supports a small cross-functional team and provides exposure to interfacing systems and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Generate architecture and power distribution diagrams and analyze tradeoffs
  • Select electrical components from COTS catalogues and custom designs
  • Perform voltage and ampacity analysis
  • Design electrical system installations in CAD and 2D drawings
  • Manufacture and install electrical designs into aircraft
  • Iterate quickly following the design, build, test strategy
  • Control designs via interface and configuration documents

Requirements

  • B.S. in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, other relevant discipline and 3+ years of working experience in a relevant industry OR in lieu of a degree, 5+ years of working experience in a relevant industry
  • Excellent problem solving and teamwork skills, working with people cross-functionally
  • Experience with hands-on design, prototyping, and testing

Benefits

Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). Target base pay: $90,800 - $155,400/yr.
