Description

System design engineer role focused on industrial controls to monitor mission-critical equipment, improve efficiencies, and predict/prevent system downtime. You will serve as the North America product technical expert by supporting sales with controls expertise, designing system architecture and technical documentation, and troubleshooting installed systems. You will also liaise with product management to provide feedback for product design and enhancements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-sales support to the sales team as the technical expert; participate in customer calls to overcome customer objections
  • Answer customer questions on architecture and data security protocols
  • Occasionally perform site surveys/audits to qualify or design complex installations
  • Design system architecture for new installations: select hardware and sensor locations; generate Bill of Materials; create piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&ID); identify compressor integration strategy
  • Provide technical specifications to the product engineering team to finalize the Dynamic Engine design
  • Build the customer dashboard prior to installation and support installation teams with remote technical support
  • Complete post-deployment documentation including as-builts, register mapping, and compressor integration details
  • Manage troubleshooting post-installation, including escalation to product management and R&D as required
  • Liaison to product management for feedback on product design, enhancements, and roadmap development
  • Support training and onboarding of new associates with technical product training

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field and/or combination of education plus at least 5 years related industrial controls support experience
  • Demonstrated experience with system architecture design for industrial systems
  • 2+ years industrial IT/networking experience; willingness to install IoT devices
  • 2+ years customer service experience in a technical industry
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics; strong technical problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of IoT communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, TCP/IP), networking, and data security
  • Ability to manage multiple urgent issues in parallel
  • Proficient in Google and Microsoft Office suite including PowerPoint and Excel
