Quick Facts

Senior Data Scientist, People Analytics. Build models and AI agents to anticipate workforce needs and deliver trustworthy forecasts to HR leaders.

Description

As a Senior Data Scientist on the People Analytics team, you will build predictive models for attrition and turnover risk, hiring and headcount needs, and underlying workforce trends. You will also build AI agents that deliver forecasts directly to HR leaders so results reach decision-makers rather than remaining in reports. This newly created role provides latitude in modeling approach, validation standards, and how results are presented, working closely with HR COEs and hands-on with Workday and other people systems plus Visier metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with HR leaders to understand forecasting/automation needs and build models and agents they can trust to act on.
  • Build and deploy predictive models in Python and SQL; monitor performance over time, retest as new data arrives, and refine when accuracy drifts.
  • Build AI agents that query People data, reason over it, and take action, including tool use, orchestration, and guardrails for safe operation on sensitive workforce data.
  • Select appropriate methods; apply experimentation and causal inference when answering causal questions; quantify uncertainty and explain the approach.
  • Use LLMs to surface patterns in unstructured People data such as survey comments and exit interview notes, and incorporate findings into models.
  • Develop deep familiarity with people data by extracting and structuring model inputs, identifying gaps, and partnering with Data Engineering on pipelines.
  • Explain statistical concepts, model results, and agent behavior to HR and business audiences without quantitative backgrounds.
  • Handle sensitive workforce and compensation data with discretion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Statistics, Economics, Math, Computer Science, or a related analytical field with equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience (1+ with PhD, 3+ with MS) as a data scientist producing models and engineering solutions in a production environment.
  • Depth in predictive modeling: regression, time series forecasting, and classification.
  • Strong statistical foundation including experimentation and causal inference, with judgment to select the right method.
  • Proven ability to work independently, including designing validation approach and articulating methodology to technical and non-technical reviewers.
  • Hands-on experience building with LLMs (agents, tool use and function calling, retrieval, prompt-driven workflows) and using tools such as Claude.
  • Experience with large, complex operational or HR datasets, including cleaning and structuring messy data and extracting it via SQL or APIs.
  • Fluency in SQL and strong proficiency in Python.
  • Ability to explain model results and agent behavior in plain language to non-technical HR and business leaders.
  • Ability to handle sensitive workforce and compensation data with discretion.

Benefits

  • Health insurance plans: Medical, Dental, Vision.
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan with $1 for $1 Company Match up to 5%.
  • Paid Parental Leave.
  • Associate Assistance Plan.
  • Education Assistance Program.
  • Up to $30,000 in Adoption Assistance.
  • Up to three weeks of vacation annually from the moment of hire.
  • Holiday, Sick Leave, and Personal Day policies.
  • New Hire Referral Bonus Program.
  • Significant Home Purchase Discounts.
  • Everyone’s Included Day.
  • Opportunities for professional growth; benefits subject to policies and plan terms.
