Description
This role works with a multidisciplinary team to develop and support innovative assay products for the BD Rhapsody single-cell sequencing platform. The role requires strong molecular biology and next-generation sequencing (NGS) background and the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional partners.
Responsibilities
- Lead development from feasibility through optimization, verification, validation, and tech transfer to support high-quality product launches.
- Partner with commercial, engineering, bioinformatics, quality, and operations teams to launch reagents and consumables.
- Support Operations to finalize manufacturing specifications, BOMs, SOPs, and QC protocols.
- Provide sustaining support for launched products to maintain consistent quality.
- Design and perform hands-on experiments to meet development goals.
- Review scientific literature and development data to guide project progress.
- Develop protocols, technical notes, posters, and presentations that show Rhapsody platform performance.
- Build a collaborative team with clear communication, timely decisions, and strong problem-solving.
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, biomedical sciences, or a related field
- 8+ years of research experience, including 5+ years of industry experience in a related field
- Extensive experience with RNA-seq and other next-generation sequencing techniques, including library preparation, sequencing, and data analysis
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
- Demonstrated ability to develop assay products, critically analyze data, and maintain excellent experimental records

- Salary range information: $137,500.00 - $220,100.00 USD annual
