Description

The role leads engineering teams, projects, and programs in an area of responsibility and ensures necessary preliminary activities and later-stage effectiveness and focus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering team, projects and programs in area of responsibility, ensuring preliminary activities (outcomes, milestones, viability studies, resource planning, etc.) are completed.
  • Ensure projects and programs are completed according to predetermined requirements with specific attention to product/process specifications, costs, resource utilization, and timeliness.
  • Document all phases of project, program and/or process development; report, disseminate, or transfer information to other functional areas as appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies including engineering/lab notebooks, patents, intellectual property, confidentiality, ISO, safety, and others as required.
  • Establish departmental budgets and spending requirements; ensure utilization of material and financial resources is effective and aligned with AOP for maximum productivity.
  • Assign work to subordinate staff and provide professional development and coaching.
  • Spearhead R&D of new manufacturing technologies as appropriate and ensure newly created processes, designs, and/or methodologies are incorporated into products/services and/or disseminated to other areas.
  • Utilize common engineering technology and software packages to optimize design development activities and timelines for rapid commercialization.

The salary offered is based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
