Description

The purpose of this position is to apply diverse and complex technology constructs to propose new methods to create and sustain a productive work culture and safe work environment in order to avoid and minimize Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) related problems. This is done through health, safety and environmental training, programs, and processes with a visible and uncompromised commitment to environmental protection and employee productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Work on medium to large-scale Total Installed Cost (TIC) projects: prepare certification/classification programs, supporting HSE documents, and implement project-specific HSE initiatives
• Apply regulatory requirements to guide project management; monitor and control HSE standards and applicable laws/regulations
• Design and review project plans or schematics to confirm compliance with governmental regulations and company/client requirements
• Independently evaluate, select, and adapt/modify complex techniques and procedures (e.g., Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Safety Cases (SC), support studies, Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA), Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), Fire Protection Specifications (FPS))
• Maintain and apply company HSE standards, programs, and goals using HSE procedures through departmental training, Fluor University training, and knowledge management portals/communities
• Promote company HSE standards and goals with programs to confirm a safe and productive work environment
• Adhere to and support Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Accredited four (4) year degree (or global equivalent) in an applicable field
• 6 years of work-related experience OR combined education and directly related experience totaling 10 years if non-degreed
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply local/state/province and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Attention to detail and ability to work time-consciously and time-effectively
• Proof of US citizenship
• Nuclear construction experience required
• Supervise and train subordinates assigned to the area
• Serve as company representative to external HSE organizations
• Authorization to work in the country where the position is located
