Description

We are seeking your support for the role of Senior COBOL Software Engineer in the Payments domain.

Main Responsibilities

• Collaborating closely with software engineers, the product owner, business analyst, and the team architect.
• Managing daily operations and governance of systems.
• Conducting testing, technical design, and analysis of user stories and reported defects.
• Supporting testing through troubleshooting and defect resolution.
• Refining new user stories while assessing their technical feasibility and design.

Key Requirements

• Hands-on experience with COBOL, CICS, IBM Developer for z/OS (IDz), PUMA, MQ, DB2, JCL, Git, Bitbucket, Jira, and ServiceNow.
• A university degree, ideally in information technology, computer science, or a closely related discipline.
• Proven ability to take ownership of senior software engineering tasks, delivering according to project plans and mentoring less experienced team members.
• Ability to successfully complete complex tasks.
• Strong collaboration skills, including knowledge sharing and active participation in team objectives.
• Fluency in written and spoken English to collaborate effectively with colleagues in Poland and Denmark.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of the financial sector, particularly in banking platforms related to payments and accounts.
• Familiarity with microservice architecture.
• Experience in Java development.
• Experience with test automation.
