Description

A hands-on Technical Lead leads a small team (~six engineers) to deliver quality work at pace. The role owns code review and technical direction as a trusted layer between the team and the founder, pairs closely with a Product Owner, and safeguards engineering correctness and governance-by-design.

Responsibilities

• Own code review for the team’s pull requests (Node.js and Python; back-end and front-end)
• Lead a small team hands-on: design the system, write code, review code, ship correct work quickly
• Insist on understanding root cause before building; discuss approach before writing code
• Own AWS foundations: RDS/S3 encryption at rest, logical tenant isolation, Cognito identity
• Own LLM integration patterns: OpenAI, Gemini, Anthropic via enterprise APIs, inference-only
• Safeguard explainability, tenant isolation, and audit-trail integrity; ensure events, obligations, and identities are modeled correctly; minimize sensitive data to models
• Raise the team’s understanding of the system and data model to increase delivery speed

Requirements

• Genuinely senior engineer trusted to get it right (not mid-level)
• Full-stack: comfortable across back-end and front-end
• Solid software-engineering foundations plus real AI competence (custom LLMs, agent building, enterprise LLM-API integration)
• Strong AWS: RDS, S3, Cognito; instinct for secure multi-tenant regulated workload design (encryption, isolation, role-based access)
• Data-literate: reads the data, understands it, reaches the right conclusion before acting
• Leads by delivery: earns trust by building and getting it right
