Description

Develop and maintain complex Ansible roles and playbooks for automation across multiple environments, systems, and applications. Design robust, scalable, and dynamic automation solutions using advanced Ansible capabilities, configure and manage resources within Ansible Automation Platform (AAP), and build custom Ansible modules using Python. Automate infrastructure-related processes for servers, databases, storage, and network environments, including configuration management, application deployments, operational processes, and security/compliance automation (patching, configuration hardening, and certificate renewals).

Support automation initiatives related to regulatory and operational resilience requirements, including DORA. Debug, troubleshoot, and optimise existing Ansible solutions, integrate Ansible automation with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems, follow automation best practices, and support monitoring and logging capabilities related to the Ansible Automation Platform.

Create and maintain clear technical documentation and collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders within an Agile/Scrum environment.

Responsibilities

• Configure and manage resources within Ansible Automation Platform (AAP)
• Develop custom Ansible modules and automation components using Python
• Automate infrastructure-related processes covering servers, databases, storage, and network environments
• Automate configuration management, application deployments, and operational processes
• Develop security and compliance-related automation, including patching, configuration hardening, and certificate renewals
• Support automation initiatives related to regulatory and operational resilience requirements, including DORA
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimise existing Ansible solutions
• Integrate Ansible automation with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems
• Follow coding standards, development guidelines, and automation best practices
• Support monitoring and logging capabilities related to the Ansible Automation Platform
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation for developed automation processes
• Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders within an Agile/Scrum environment

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in IT automation, including strong hands-on experience with Ansible
• Excellent knowledge of Ansible playbook and role development
• Experience designing and structuring complex Ansible solutions using variables, modules, loops, plugins, templates, and other advanced features
• Strong hands-on experience with Ansible Automation Platform (AAP), including configuration and resource management
• Experience developing custom Ansible modules using Python
• Good understanding of infrastructure automation covering servers, databases, storage, and networking
• Experience with configuration management and automated application deployment
• Experience with security and compliance automation, such as patching, configuration hardening, and certificate management
• Experience working in environments subject to DORA (Digital Operational Resilience Act) requirements or similar financial-sector regulatory frameworks
• Good knowledge of Git and version control systems
• Experience integrating Ansible with CI/CD pipelines, preferably Jenkins and/or Bamboo
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
• Practical knowledge of tools such as Jira
• Ability to create clear and detailed technical documentation
• Good command of English and ability to communicate effectively with technical teams and stakeholders
