(Senior) Data Engineer - Freelance

Requirements

Must-have:

• 4+ years of commercial working experience as a Data Engineer
• Deep expertise in the AWS tech stack: Glue, DMS, Redshift, and S3, proven in previous commercial projects
• Strong proficiency in Python, Scala, and Bash
• Experience using Scala for production data transformation and CDC, and Bash for CI/CD operations
• Ability to navigate the AWS ecosystem and manage data lifecycles beyond database administration
• Understanding of how to build crash-resistant, idempotent pipelines and optimize Spark jobs through partitioning, columnar formats such as Parquet, and broadcast joins
• Attention to detail, creative problem-solving abilities, and a passion for data
• Excellent written and spoken English (C1+)
