(Senior) Data Engineer - Freelance

Requirements

Must-have:

• 4+ years of commercial working experience as a Data Engineer.
• Deep expertise in the AWS tech stack: Glue, DMS, Redshift and S3, proven through previous commercial projects.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Scala and Bash. Scala is used for production data transformation and CDC, and Bash for CI/CD operations.
• Ability to navigate the AWS ecosystem and manage data lifecycles, beyond Database Administrator-type experience.
• Understanding of how to build crash-resistant, idempotent pipelines and optimize Spark jobs through partitioning, columnar formats such as Parquet, and broadcast joins.
• Attention to detail, creative problem-solving abilities and a passion for data.
• Excellent written and spoken English at C1+ level.
