Linux Platform Engineer

Dimetra’s engineering team delivers mission-critical TETRA-based communications systems used by public safety organisations, police and emergency services in more than 100 countries. Some projects also cover the military sector.

The Linux Platform team delivers platform solutions—including Linux OS, virtualisation techniques and server configuration—that support the core of these communications systems.

Job Description

Design, develop and test Linux-based platform solutions, with a focus on virtualisation techniques, mainly KVM. Responsibilities also include manual integration-level testing, test automation and platform hardware maintenance. Day-to-day work follows the Scrum methodology and Agile best practices.

Basic Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Linux systems development or maintenance
• In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems, including KVM virtualisation administration and troubleshooting
• Good knowledge of Bash
• Good knowledge of Python
• Basic knowledge of networking protocols and features: TCP/IP, routing and switching
• Good troubleshooting skills
• Enthusiasm for learning new things and taking on new responsibilities
• Strong team player who communicates openly and works closely with other teams
• English language skills that enable effective communication

Experience of Any of the Following Is an Advantage

• Familiarity with Scrum methodology
• Experience with Git and JIRA
• Experience with automation frameworks and Jenkins
