Solution Architect

The Commercial Solution Architect is a hands-on architecture role within Digital & Technology (D&T), accountable for designing end-to-end solution architectures for Commercial capabilities. The role ensures solutions are implementable, secure, scalable and aligned with agreed domain and enterprise standards.

Working under the Commercial Domain Architect, the role translates target architecture, standards and guardrails into practical solution designs that delivery teams can build and operate. It partners with Product Managers/Owners, engineers, data teams and delivery teams to ensure Commercial solutions align with D&T direction, including Salesforce-centred Commercial capability and the broader enterprise architecture direction.

Key Accountabilities

• Design end-to-end solution architectures for Commercial initiatives, including Sales, Marketing, Trade, Customer Engagement and related capabilities.
• Ensure solution designs align with Commercial domain guardrails and enterprise architecture standards.
• Embed security, privacy and compliance requirements into solution designs by default.
• Provide architecture governance and implementation guidance to delivery teams through the full lifecycle: design, build and deploy.
• Drive reuse of patterns and reduce localised complexity to support convergence on strategic platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design scalable, secure and maintainable technology solutions that meet business and technical requirements across the Commercial domain.
• Translate business needs into clear solution architectures, integration designs and implementation roadmaps.
• Ensure solutions align with Commercial domain priorities and the target architecture defined by the Commercial Domain Architect.
• Design and govern integrations, APIs and data flows across Commercial, ERP, Finance, Supply Chain and Data platforms.
• Provide architecture guidance and delivery assurance throughout the solution lifecycle, including design reviews and risk management.
• Embed security, privacy and compliance requirements into solution designs from the outset.
• Promote architecture standards, reusable patterns and best practices to improve consistency, scalability and maintainability.
• Drive simplification and standardisation by reducing unnecessary complexity and encouraging the use of strategic enterprise platforms.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data, Security and Delivery teams to ensure successful solution implementation and business outcomes.

Essential Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as a Solution Architect in Digital/Technology environments, with strong hands-on system design capability.
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into implementable solution architectures and guide delivery teams through implementation governance.
• Understanding of integration patterns, APIs and data flows in enterprise environments.
• Experience embedding security, privacy and compliance requirements into solution designs.
• Solution design skills: logical architecture, integration, data flows and non-functional design.
• Ability to provide pragmatic minimum viable architecture guidance that accelerates delivery.
• Clear communication and stakeholder management across Product, Engineering and Delivery teams.
• Structured problem solving and comfort operating across ambiguity and trade-offs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing Commercial solutions in CRM/customer-engagement ecosystems and working in environments aligned to Salesforce-centric strategies.
• Experience operating within enterprise architecture standards and governance models at scale.
