Why This Role Is Important

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will work on cloud-native products and services, owning responsibility areas including monitoring, observability, release management, vulnerability management, cost management, audit, and compliance. You will work closely with DevOps engineers, clients, and stakeholders to ensure reliability, performance, and automation for existing and new cloud-native products and services, including onboarding and supporting long-running clients. Your contributions will drive stability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence in Azure-based environments through hands-on engineering, incident response, platform configuration, and service quality, guided by ITIL and SRE best practices.

What You Will Be Responsible For

  • Support the operation and enhancement of mission-critical environments for new and existing cloud-native products and services.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to enhance monitoring, observability, reliability, and performance.
  • Collaborate across engineering teams to understand systems at the code level.
  • Manage and improve infrastructure deployment pipelines; troubleshoot onboarding and operational issues.
  • Drive capacity planning to ensure the platform remains resilient and scalable.
  • Build tools and automation to eliminate manual toil, improve engineering velocity and developer experience, and improve system reliability.
  • Define and manage SLOs and error budgets with engineering teams.
  • Contribute to incident, problem, and change management processes.
  • Execute disaster recovery, configuration management, and platform readiness tasks.
  • Work regular and evening shifts on a rotational basis and provide weekend or on-call support as needed.
  • Collaborate with Agile teams and participate in design discussions with clients, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing across multiple product areas.
  • Apply ITIL practices, including problem, change, and incident management.

What We Value

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in Site Reliability, DevOps, or Cloud Engineering roles.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Azure Cloud.
  • Infrastructure as Code experience using Bicep, ARM, and Terraform.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools, including Azure Monitor, Application Insights, DataDog, and Log Analytics.
  • Hands-on experience onboarding and integrating identity providers, including Azure Entra ID, Okta, Keycloak, and PingFederate.
  • Experience centralizing authentication, managing user identities, and implementing SAML, OAuth, and OIDC.
  • Experience with observability frameworks such as OpenTelemetry and distributed tracing systems.
  • Experience with application reliability platforms such as Checkly or equivalent.
  • Experience setting up synthetic monitoring with Playwright or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML-based anomaly detection, log aggregation, and analysis tools such as Microsoft Azure Anomaly Detector or equivalent.
  • Experience with Microsoft Defender Suite (EDR, XDR) and Sentinel; proficiency in KQL for threat hunting, improving compliance scores with Defender for Cloud, and vulnerability identification and remediation.
  • Understanding of networking and containerization, including Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Understanding of APIs, scripting languages including PowerShell, Bash, and Kusto, and databases including SQL, Cosmos DB, and PostgreSQL.
  • Familiarity with SimCorp Dimension and Salesforce is a plus.
  • ITSM and ITIL proficiency, with a focus on incident, change, and problem management.
  • Experience managing onboarding projects and live production operations.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Interest in continuous learning and growth within the product area.
