Senior Data Engineer (Talend)

Responsibilities

The Data Engineer leads the design and implementation of complex data engineering solutions, sets technical standards, and mentors junior team members. The role requires deep expertise in distributed data systems, cloud data platforms, and advanced ETL/ELT patterns to architect scalable data warehouses and data lakes, troubleshoot intricate performance issues, and ensure critical data infrastructure is resilient and secure. The position drives technical excellence, contributes significantly to data governance, and influences architectural decisions.

• Scope / Content Leadership: Lead the design and construction of large-scale data architectures. Oversee and mentor junior engineers while driving technical excellence and setting standards across the team.
• Accountability / Problem Solving: Solve highly complex data engineering problems and troubleshoot intricate performance issues. Ensure critical data infrastructure and systems remain highly scalable, secure, resilient, and efficient.
• Stakeholder Management: Liaise with senior leadership to align on data strategy and organizational needs. Guide and direct technical teams and effectively influence architectural decisions.
• Impact / Strategy: Lead high-impact projects that significantly shape the organization’s data infrastructure. Develop long-term strategies for data architecture and contribute significantly to data governance initiatives.
• Complexity / Product Size: Manage enterprise-level data systems and infrastructure. Design and implement advanced data processing frameworks, scalable data warehouses, and data lakes.
• Business / Technical Ability: Act as an expert in multiple programming languages and Big Data technologies. Demonstrate deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud data platforms, advanced ETL/ELT patterns, and data architecture best practices.

Requirements

• Extensive experience leading the design, implementation, and construction of complex data engineering solutions and large-scale data architectures.
• Proven track record of leading high-impact projects that shape enterprise-level data infrastructure and developing long-term data architecture strategies.
• Demonstrated experience contributing significantly to data governance and ensuring the resilience and security of critical data infrastructure.
• Expert proficiency in multiple programming languages and Big Data technologies.
• Deep expertise in distributed data systems, cloud data platforms, and advanced ETL/ELT patterns.
• Proven capability to architect scalable data warehouses and data lakes, and to troubleshoot intricate system performance issues.
• Proficiency in Talend is required.
• AWS expertise.
• Database expertise.
• Scrum Master expertise is beneficial.
