IT Support - Level 1

Due to continued growth, we are currently hiring an IT Support professional to join the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level IT support and monitor the hospital IT helpdesk.
  • Log, investigate and resolve IT incidents where appropriate, escalating issues to Level 2 support when required.
  • Provide technical support to both business and clinical users.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve PC, hardware, software and connectivity issues.
  • Build, configure and troubleshoot IT and communications hardware.
  • Install and configure software, applications, drivers and updates.
  • Carry out standard desktop support activities, including user administration, password resets and new-user setup.
  • Manage user access and security permissions across domain and application systems.
  • Assist with backups and data recovery activities.
  • Ensure security updates, patches and IT security requirements are maintained across supported hardware.
  • Assist with new software installations alongside the Local Systems Administrator.
  • Develop and maintain IT knowledge base documentation.
  • Assist with the production and review of IT project documentation and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Monitor vendor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and follow up on outstanding issues.
  • Participate in scheduled system maintenance and upgrades.
  • Assist with IT projects and technical initiatives as directed by management.
  • Participate in the IT on-call rota and assist with emergency technical issues outside normal working hours where required.
  • Work collaboratively with Level 1 and Level 2 IT Technicians and wider IT teams.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in Desktop Support / IT Support.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience providing technical support to users.
  • Knowledge of IT helpdesk/service desk environments.
  • Experience with hardware configuration, software installation and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with user administration and access management.
  • Good understanding of IT security practices.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple support requests.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet targets.

Education

  • Leaving Certificate.
  • Certificate or qualification in an IT discipline.

Nice to Haves

  • Microsoft Certification.
  • Cisco Certification.
  • CompTIA Certification.
  • Microsoft 365 experience.
