Software Engineer (Node.js)

Contract duration: approximately 6 months, with possible extension.

What you’ll do

• Own a backend end to end as the only Node engineer on the team: design the service, build it, ship it, and defend technical decisions directly with the client.
• Build integration layers over systems outside the team’s control, including e-commerce platforms, payment gateways, and LLM APIs.
• Handle APIs that may be incomplete, undocumented, or occasionally incorrect.
• Work with modern AI tooling that changes frequently; test and evaluate new tools.

What you should bring

• Curiosity about new tools and developments in backend engineering and AI.
• English at B2/C1 level, with confidence communicating directly with clients on technical topics.
• 2–3+ years of commercial backend experience, including solid hands-on work with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Comfortable use of modern TypeScript and ES6+, with understanding of REST API design principles.
• Solid SQL skills with PostgreSQL, including writing and reasoning about queries.
• Experience with an ORM, such as TypeORM or Prisma.
• Conceptual familiarity with queues, message buses, or scheduled jobs.
• Exposure to at least one cloud provider—Azure, AWS, or GCP—and Docker.
• Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and solid Git and code-review habits.
• Willingness to work with coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex, and to critically review their output.
• Willingness to raise concerns, including with non-technical stakeholders, and keep developing professional judgment.

Preferred

• NestJS experience; production experience is preferred but not required.
• Exposure to GraphQL and OpenAPI or contract-first development.
