Senior Android Developer (freelance)
Senior
Remote
Warsaw, Poland
15,000 - 30,000 PLN/mo
🏢 Summary: Freelance Senior Android Developer role focused on building and maintaining high-performance Android applications for IoT and connected device projects. The position involves developing Kotlin-based apps, integrating with Bluetooth Low Energy peripherals, and contributing to architecture and code quality in a remote environment. It offers collaboration on upcoming IoT projects with potential for long-term engagement. 🗂️ Requirements: 3+ years of commercial Android development experience, Strong experience with Kotlin, Experience with Kotlin Coroutines, Experience writing Unit Tests / TDD, Knowledge of Koin and Hilt, Knowledge of Jetpack Compose, Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy communication, B2 level English (written and spoken), Experience reviewing code and maintaining high-quality standards 📃 Skills: Android, Kotlin, Coroutines, UnitTesting, TDD, Koin, Hilt, JetpackCompose, BLE, JUnit, Mockito, Robolectric, MVP, Flutter, Jira, Confluence 🏢 Description: In short If you're a Senior Android Developer who knows BLE inside out and isn't afraid of code that talks to physical things, we want to talk. You'd join us on a freelance, time & material basis: you're paid for the hours you actually work on real client projects. The first three months are about figuring out if we're a good match. When things work out, and that depends on the work itself, the project pipeline, and business timing, there's a real path to our core team with a permanent contract and full benefits. Why intent? We've been designing and co-creating connected devices since 2008. Wearables, smart audio, health-tech hardware for clients like Oura and BOSE, backed by investors like a16z and Founders Fund. We're 60+ people, fully remote, and AI-native since before LinkedIn influencers discovered the term. We use AI every day, in actual work, not just in company decks. If your Kotlin has ever made a physical device do something it couldn't do before, you already get why we love what we do. Who this role is NOT for If you like being told exactly what to build every morning, opening Jira, closing Jira, and logging off at 17:01, we're probably not your people. We look for engineers who ask "why" before "how", challenge assumptions, and occasionally break things because they were trying something new. We're AI-native and we expect you to treat AI as a daily multiplier, not a gimmick. What we expect: ownership of what you touch, straight talk when things get complicated, and the kind of curiosity that makes you actually care about the device on the other end of your Bluetooth connection. What you'll do Design, build, and maintain Android apps that communicate with hardware peripherals over BLE Write performant, reusable, and reliable Kotlin code, the kind people don't dread inheriting Take part in specifying, planning, and estimating new modules and features Cover your code with unit tests and keep a TDD mindset where it makes sense Review pull requests and give your teammates feedback that actually helps Hunt down bottlenecks and bugs, including the ones that only show up on one OEM Share what you learn: tech talks, internal docs, pair sessions, whatever fits Use AI tools as part of your daily workflow, not as a party trick What we're looking for 3+ years writing production Android in commercial projects Strong Kotlin (not "I read about coroutines once") Hands-on BLE integration experience: real apps talking to real peripherals Jetpack Compose in production Comfort with popular Android libraries: Koin, Hilt, and the modern stack Unit testing discipline (JUnit, Mockito, Robolectric, or similar) with a TDD mindset English at B2+, written and spoken, because our clients are mostly US-based Problem-solving over line-counting: we'll take a creative thinker over a fast typist any day High coding standards and an eye on what's new in the Android world Initiative, ownership, and the kind of communication where people don't have to guess what you meant Nice to have Solid grasp of architecture and design patterns Previous IoT or connected device projects Functional reactive programming (Flow, RxJava) Google Play release experience and Android Auto Agile or Scrum delivery experience Some Flutter experience Genuine curiosity about the things you build, not just the code behind them How we work Fully remote. We have a pet-friendly office in Warsaw and a coworking space in Gdansk if walls and coffee machines motivate you, but nobody will ask why you're not there. Working hours are flexible: most of the team operates between 10:00 and 18:00 CET, and that's when most meetings happen. Evening calls with US-based clients (up to ~20:00) are part of the rhythm, sometimes a couple of times a week, always planned ahead. You'll be part of the Mobile chapter for knowledge-sharing, and at the same time on a project squad led by a PM for day-to-day delivery. What you'll get 90-180 PLN/h net B2B, depending on your experience Truly flexible hours: you organize your day Fully remote, with pet-friendly Warsaw office + Gdansk cowork if you want them Access to our internal knowledge-sharing: tech talks, experiments, side projects When the first 3 months work out, and that depends on the work, the project pipeline, and business timing, there's a real path to a permanent contract with a fixed monthly salary, 26 days paid leave, 10 sick days, Saltus medical care, and a training budget No sugarcoating: during the freelance period there's no paid leave or medical benefits. Those come with the permanent contract, and we're transparent about that upfront. Your first weeks We aim to give you space to ramp up before jumping into live project work, but this is a real company with real deadlines: if the project needs you sooner, we'll make sure you have the support to hit the ground running. You'll get paired with a technical buddy and tackle progressively bigger tasks, so both sides can see how the collaboration feels. Feedback comes early and often, no one waits three months to tell you something isn't working. If it's great, you'll know. If something needs adjusting, you'll hear about it while there's still time to adjust. Recruitment process The entire process is in English. All interviews are recorded for internal evaluation purposes. Application with a few screening questions HR call, ~45 min, casual Technical meeting, ~90 min, with the technical team (may include live coding) Final feedback within a few days Once we're in touch, you'll hear from us fast. We don't ghost and we don't drag. One more thing intent is an equal opportunity employer. We care about what you can do, not where you come from. Send us your CV and a few words about why this caught your eye. Bonus points if you share something you've built that made you proud.

Strong ownership, hands-on LLM production experience, and full-stack execution across frontend, backend, and cloud infrastructure are required. 🗂️ Requirements: 5+ years of production software engineering experience, 1-2+ years building and operating LLM systems in production, Experience deploying agentic systems with real users, Strong full-stack development experience, Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, RAG, prompt engineering, Experience with at least one agentic framework or custom orchestration, Ability to design, ship, and maintain systems end-to-end, Experience with cloud infrastructure and production deployments, Strong written English 📃 Skills: TypeScript, React, Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL, AWS, Anthropic, OpenAI, LangGraph, CrewAI, RAG, LLM, APIs, SQL, VectorDB 🏢 Description: Who we are AgentX is a platform for building and running production AI agents — and a team that ships real systems on top of it for clients who need more than a demo. The platform is the infrastructure: orchestration, memory, tools, evals, deployment — the layer that makes agentic systems actually work in production, not just in a notebook. On top of it, we build end-to-end solutions for our clients. One of the systems running on AgentX today is KsięgoBoty — a multi-agent product used daily by hundreds of Polish accounting firms. Paying customers, production load, real consequences when something breaks. We've also done to ourselves what we build for others: restructured how we work around AI tools, agent-first architectures, and a delivery model that doesn't need a Jira layer between thinking and shipping. This isn't theory — it's how we operate every day. Who we're looking for A senior engineer who owns outcomes, not tasks. This isn't a role for someone who's shipped "an LLM demo at a hackathon." We need someone who has already put agentic systems into production — with real users, real edge cases, real 2am Slack messages when something goes sideways. If you need a PM to translate the problem, a Jira board with three rounds of grooming, and acceptance criteria to tell you what "done" means — this isn't for you, and that's fine. If instead you read a Slack message like "accountants are losing 2 hours a day reconciling this" and your brain immediately jumps to "okay, what does the user actually need, what's the simplest thing that works, and how do we ship it" — keep reading. You'll own problems end-to-end. Frontend, backend, the agent layer, the deploy, the follow-up when a customer hits something weird. You decide what to build, you build it, you ship it, you watch what happens. And you get that this actually matters. On the other end of every feature there's an accountant closing books at 9pm, a firm owner trying to keep their business running. It's not just code. What "AI-native" actually means here Not "I've used ChatGPT." We mean: Claude Code / Cursor / Codex is your IDE , not a plugin you switch on when you feel like it. You know when "accept all" is safe and when it absolutely isn't. You have strong opinions on agent orchestration — when to reach for LangGraph/CrewAI/Agno vs. when to write 50 lines of plain Python that work better. You understand production reality of LLM systems — guardrails, evals, observability, retry logic, cost control, what to do when a model is non-deterministic in a way that breaks your contract with the user. You can tell when a model is the wrong tool and reach for code instead. For you, AI is a tool — not the point. What you'll actually own Agentic systems in production — multi-step workflows, RAG pipelines, agent orchestration. From architecture decision to deployment to the 3am on-call when something drifts. The AgentX platform itself — the primitives, the orchestration layer, the evals, the deployment story. You're building the thing that makes every client engagement faster and more reliable than the last. Full-stack client solutions on top of AgentX — TypeScript/React on the frontend, Python on the backend, integrated with LLM providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, others as they come). Infrastructure that holds up — Postgres, AWS, vector stores, ingestion pipelines, the unsexy layer that makes everything else possible. Quality standards for AI systems — you help us define what "good" looks like. Evals, guardrails, failure modes. Because "mostly right but wrong in scary ways" is not a feature. Our stack TypeScript, React, Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL, AWS, Anthropic + OpenAI APIs, agentic frameworks. You don't need every box ticked — you need to be the kind of specialist who picks up unfamiliar pieces quickly and confidently. What we expect (must-haves) 5+ years shipping production software , at least 1-2 of them with real LLM systems in production — not side projects, not demos Strong full-stack background — you're comfortable owning from frontend to infra, even if your center of gravity is one side AI-native coding workflow — Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, whatever — as your daily driver Hands-on with LLM APIs, RAG, prompt engineering, and at least one agentic framework (or you've built your own orchestration and have opinions on why) Strong written English — you'll communicate with clients, partners, and async teammates Ability to run a project from discovery to delivery with minimal supervision — we'll align on outcomes, you'll figure out how Nice-to-have Experience building B2B SaaS for non-technical users (SMBs, professional services) Voice agents, real-time systems (LiveKit or similar) Accounting / fintech / regulated domain exposure How we work Fast pace, but Monday to Friday. Weekends are yours. We don't do crunch, we don't do fake urgency, we don't do meetings that could've been a message. We'd rather ship steadily for years than sprint for six months and lose you. Direct line to the founder. Direct line to clients. No process layer between you and the work. Small team, real decisions, real ownership. The honest pitch Real ownership of real product areas — not a seat on a feature factory Frontier work — you're building both the platform that makes production agents work and the client systems running on top of it Compensation that reflects seniority — 14 000 – 25 000 PLN netto + VAT (B2B), with room above for someone exceptional Fully paid AI stack — Claude Max, Cursor, whatever you need to work at full speed Remote-first , flexible hours, Poland-based No filler meetings, no Jira bloat — we measure shipped systems in production, not hours logged Push back on the founder when he's wrong. He will be, regularly. How the process works 1. You send us stuff recruitment@agentx.so Your CV — yes, we read them One thing you built end-to-end you're proud of — and what you'd change about it today One AI product (yours or someone else's) you think is genuinely good, and why Your take: a client says our agent is "mostly right but wrong in ways that scare them." What do you do first? 2. We reply within 2-3 days — either "let's talk" or "not this time, here's why." No black hole. 3. We meet — 30-45 min call with the founder. We talk about your work, you ask us hard questions. If the chemistry isn't there, no hard feelings. 4. Problem-solving session (top 2-3 candidates) — we give you a real problem we're working on. You come back with how you'd approach it: your thinking, your trade-offs, your questions. We're not watching over your shoulder. We want to see how you think. 5. Decision within 2-3 days. If yes — you start when you're ready. Tomorrow, next week, after notice period. Your call.

🏢 Summary: Senior backend engineering role focused on building and scaling AI-driven systems, including APIs, data pipelines, LLM orchestration, and distributed workloads on confidential production data. The position involves architecting reliable backend infrastructure for retrieval, streaming, embeddings, and integrations while ensuring security and scalability. 🗂️ Requirements: 7+ years building production backends, 6+ years of Python experience, 3+ years of FastAPI experience, 2+ years of Redis experience, Experience with PostgreSQL and SQL, Experience with distributed and async workloads, Experience with LLM systems, Knowledge of RAG or tool-calling systems, Ability to design scalable backend architectures, Experience with AI coding tools 📃 Skills: Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, SQL, Redis, LLM, RAG, LangChain, LlamaIndex, APIs, Embeddings, Streaming 🏢 Description: About us comm1t is a specialist IT recruitment agency delivering top engineers across Poland and Europe 🇪🇺. We combine experienced recruiters with autonomous AI agents and an obsessive focus on quality — sourcing 24/7 across LinkedIn, GitHub, and beyond to reach engineers who aren't actively job hunting but are open to the right move. We don't flood you with CVs. We get to know each candidate's skills, values, and goals, then send only the best-matched people — and we stay close through onboarding and the first months to make sure the placement lasts. About the role You'll lead the backend that drives the AI features — the APIs, the data pipelines, and the orchestration that connects the product to the language models doing the actual work. In practice that's querying across large document sets, getting trustworthy answers out of LLMs and their tool calls, pushing results to the UI as they stream, and grinding through lengthy background jobs without the whole thing toppling over. Forget CRUD. The real difficulty is making AI systems fast and reliable on confidential data, at production scale. The architecture choices land on you early, and you'll be the one living with them. What you'll do Architect and ship the APIs and services that everything else depends on Own the AI plumbing end to end: retrieval, orchestration, tool-calling, streaming, and the evals that tell you whether the results are worth anything Make async and distributed workloads rock-solid — document ingestion, embeddings, and long jobs running on Redis Wire up integrations with what clients already use (email, document stores) and harden them for real-world traffic Put data security and isolation front and center, because clients are handing over material they can't afford to leak Who you are Seven years or more delivering production backends — though how deep you go matters more to us than the figure itself You think in failure modes, not just the happy path You've shipped genuine LLM systems (RAG, tool-calling, agents), or you can't wait to — and you've got a feel for where they fall apart You lean on AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) and get real value from them: more speed, yes, but you grasp and back every line — code you'd reject in someone else's review is code you won't merge in your own A startup that keeps changing course doesn't faze you — plans get set, then torn up and redrawn Tech stack experience Python: 6+ years FastAPI: 3+ years PostgreSQL / SQL Redis: 2+ years Nice to have RAG or vector search experience LangChain or LlamaIndex
