AI Product Engineer (Mid/Senior)

About the role

Join the team building Lyro, an AI customer-support agent operating on large-scale production traffic. Lyro uses custom tools, follows complex multi-step and user-defined guidance, accesses product data through a native Shopify integration and an in-house ingestion system, accesses company policies, and continuously learns from company data and conversations.

The role focuses on building a product that works both for solo store owners and for companies with their own systems, processes, and specific support expectations. You will take end-to-end ownership of client-facing work—from integrations and the agent engine to the supporting infrastructure.

This is a highly autonomous, fast-paced role for someone who enjoys spec-driven development and using AI tools to improve productivity. Assignments may be loosely defined or self-initiated; you will scope them, work directly with clients, Customer Success Managers, or sales teams, ship, monitor, and iterate.

What you'll work on

• End-to-end feature ownership, from conversations with clients, Customer Success Managers, or sales teams through shipping and production monitoring
• Integrations and distribution channels for the agent
• The agent itself: context engineering, tool-use optimization, prompt caching, and an evaluation module used by clients and Customer Success Managers
• Full-stack work regardless of specialization

You are the perfect fit if you have

• A technical specialization in frontend, backend, ML, or infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of one programming language. The stack includes Python, JavaScript, and TypeScript, but strong experience in another language is also accepted
• A resourceful approach to using AI tools efficiently; daily hands-on use of Cursor AI, Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity, or similar tools, with real production spec-driven development experience
• Ability to resolve ambiguity independently and communicate directly with clients and business stakeholders
• A builder mindset and preference for shipping work
• Strong business acumen and understanding of product impact
• High autonomy and strong self-management
• Comfort working in a dynamic environment and creating processes when needed

Extra points for

• Experience with high-volume traffic and/or enterprise clients
• Side projects that you can discuss in depth, including their architecture and technical decisions
• Experience with relational databases, agent development, or agent orchestration/harnesses
