Senior Data Software Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Data Software Engineer to join a growing Data Practice and strengthen the team.

Projects and technologies are diverse, covering technologies currently on the market and represented by open-source communities. Services are delivered to clients in Financial, Health Care, Insurance, and other domains, offering opportunities to develop in different directions.

Responsibilities

  • Implement data ingestion from diverse sources, including RDBMS, REST HTTP APIs, flat files, streams, time-series data, and SAP, using Big Data technologies.
  • Process and transform data using Spark and cloud services.
  • Understand and execute project-specific business logic through programming languages supported by the primary data platform.
  • Optimize data retrieval, develop dashboards, and perform data validation.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and IT professionals.
  • Provide thought leadership on Big Data best practices and technology trends.
  • Maintain the integrity and security of big-data sources and platforms.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade big-data systems and applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of software development experience with Big Data technologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of Python, Scala, or Java.
  • Proficiency with Spark and Databricks and/or Snowflake.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or Amazon Web Services.
  • Demonstrated experience with big-data models, databases, and tools.
  • Strong understanding of JSON, Parquet, and Avro data file formats.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including Cassandra and MongoDB.
  • Proficiency in data warehousing solutions and ETL processes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices.
  • Exceptional oral and written English communication skills at B2+ level.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Oozie, Airflow, HDFS, and YARN.
  • Experience with message queues, especially Kafka.
  • Production experience with Solr, OpenSearch, or Lucene.
