About the Role

The Firmware Engineering team in Gdańsk is growing and is seeking Firmware Engineers, primarily at mid and senior levels, while welcoming Junior Engineers with a strong interest in embedded systems and firmware development.

You will contribute to the development and evolution of security systems and accessories for the EMEA market. You will work across the full firmware development lifecycle—from requirements and technical specifications through design and implementation to testing, troubleshooting, and production support.

Depending on your experience level, you may own individual features and products, contribute to technical and architectural decisions, or work alongside experienced engineers while building embedded software expertise. Products include security panels, keypads, touchscreens, card readers, sirens, and sensors. You will collaborate with Hardware Engineering, Product Management, Quality Assurance, Compliance, Cybersecurity, and global R&D teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain firmware for wired and wireless security devices and accessories.
  • Implement firmware changes and new functionality for panels, keypads, touchscreens, card readers, sirens, and sensors.
  • Participate in the complete firmware development lifecycle: requirements, specification, design, implementation, testing, and production support.
  • Develop embedded software using C and, where applicable, C++.
  • Work in bare-metal and RTOS-based environments, including FreeRTOS.
  • Develop and maintain communication functionality using interfaces such as RS485 and wireless technologies.
  • Contribute to low-power, real-time, and resource-efficient solutions.
  • Participate in hardware-software integration and system and firmware architecture discussions.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and support root-cause analysis, debugging, and bug fixing.
  • Use SWD/JTAG debuggers, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
  • Contribute to firmware security mechanisms, including secure boot and secure firmware update solutions.
  • Support verification, validation, certification, and production activities.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and development guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Hardware Engineering, QA, Compliance, and Cybersecurity teams.
  • Work with local and globally distributed engineering teams to share knowledge and ensure consistent implementation.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and development practices.
